Victoria Duffy is the last wife of Dennis Hopper who passed away today in the morning.  The couple had been married since 1996 and filed for divorce on January this year.

The divorce soon turned sour and in the court papers Dennis describes Victoria Duffy as “insane”, “volatile and “inhuman” and cited her “outrageous conduct”, as the divorce progressed, Hopper got sicker and sicker and could not attend the court given his terminal illness.

In March 2010 Hopper filed papers on court saying Duffy had absconded art belonging to him valued in $1.5 million and she wouldn’t return it.  That same month hopper was granted a restraining order against Victoria Duffy.

There are no news of her and his death. We imagine that she wasn’t present given all the divorce history.

3:19 p.m. | Updated Dennis Hopper, whose portrayals of drug-addled, often deranged misfits in the landmark films “Easy Rider,” “Apocalypse Now” and “Blue Velvet” drew on his early out-of-control experiences as part of a new generation of Hollywood rebel, died at his home in Venice, Calif., on Saturday. He was 74.

According to the Times obituary written by Edward Wyatt, Mr. Hopper died from complications of prostate cancer. His death was first reported by Reuters.

Mr. Hopper, who said he stopped drinking and using drugs in the mid-1980s, followed that change with a tireless phase of his career in which he claimed to have turned down no parts. His credits include at least  six films released in 2008 and at least 25 over the past 10 years.

Most recently, Mr. Hopper starred in the television series “Crash,” an adaptation of the Oscar-winning film of the same title. Produced for the Starz cable channel, the show had Mr. Hopper portraying a music producer unhinged by years of drug use. During a promotional tour last fall for that series, he fell ill; shortly thereafter, he began a new round of treatments for prostate cancer, which he said was first diagnosed a decade ago.

Dennis Hopper, the Oscar-winning acting legend and quirky artist, died Saturday in suburban Los Angeles after a battle with prostate cancer.  Hopper’s acting oeuvre was long and varied, full of off-beat and interesting roles, from highs like Apocalypse Now, Rebel Without a Cause, and Hoosiers, to critical lows like The Last Movie and An American Carol, in which he flaunted his later-life Republicanism. Hooper’s ever-changing politics, eccentric roles and artistic leanings made him an outlier in Hollywood; as a painter, sculptor and photographer, he showed his art all over the world.  His breakout came with Oscar-nominated Easy Rider, the low-budget motorcycle flick that he wrote, directed and edited, and which perfectly captured the 1969 zeitgeist. But arguably his most memorable role was playing Frank Booth, the addict and sadist in David Lynch’s 1986 film, Blue Velvet. Hopper’s Booth is today considered one of cinema’s most memorable villains.  The actor died at the age of 74.
