Topeka Google Logo – Google is never one to disappoint on April Fools’ day!

In one of it’s April Fools’ pranks Google changed it’s name to Topeka. Google chose Topeka in response to Topeka, Kansas changing it’s name to Google, Kansas for a month in a bid to convince Google to choose the Kansas capital as a test site for a much faster experimental fiber-optic network.

In an online blog posted Thursday at google.com, Google jokingly implies that the name change is permanent, and offers tips on how to “topeka” someone during a search.

Here are some more of Google’s April Fools pranks:

• A new option in Google Books to read digital books in 3D.
• The ability to store anything in Google Docs, including physical objects such as keys.
• Google Street View is now available in Anachrome 3D.
• Google Maps in Australia now features directions with Australian slang phrases like “mate” and “chuck a left.”
• Google’s search results show the time taken to load results in different units such as microfortnights and nanocenturies.
• A new animal translator that bridges the language gap between animals and humans.
• *Standard voicemail for Google Voice.
• Google added an “evil bit” to its API to differentiate legitimate API traffic from malicious actions.
• New “wave” notifications for Google Wave have humans wave at you when Google Wave has been updated.
• Google Annotations Gallery, “an exciting new Java open source library that provides a rich set of annotations for developers to express themselves.”
• A new Japanese keyborard that looks like a drumkit and includes a single key for each Japanese character.
• An update to “Virgle,” a prank from 2008 that has Google attempting to establish a permanent human colony on Mars.

UFC 111 St-Pierre vs Hardy Mixed martial arts event was held at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, United States by the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) on March 27, 2010.

St. Pierre defeated Hardy via unanimous decision (50-43, 50-44, 50-45) to retain the UFC Welterweight championship.

After the match St. Pierre said that he is not happy with his performance and Hardy was tougher than he expected.
