Singer Aubrey O’Day gets reality show (Reuters) – NIMBRUNG.NET

Hot Breaking News about Singer Aubrey ODay gets reality show Reuters
LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) – Singer Aubrey O’Day is returning to reality TV, landing her own show on women’s cable channel Oxygen.

The former lead vocalist of all-girl band Danity Kane was discovered in 2004 as part of MTV’s series “Making the Band.” Producer and judge Sean Combs famously fired O’Day during an episode of the show two years ago.

Now, Oxygen’s “The Aubrey O’Day Project” will chronicle her attempt to make a comeback in the music industry while working with a demanding team of industry professionals.

Since leaving Danity Kane, O’Day has appeared in musicals on Broadway and in Las Vegas. No airdate or episode count has been determined.

Oxygen continues to expand its reality efforts, last week picking up Season 2 of “Bad Girls Club” spinoff “Love Games,” which became the network’s most-watched freshman season of a series among its target 18-34 demographic.

Mo. Special Olympics ousts ex-priest over abuse (AP) – NIMBRUNG.NET

Hot Breaking News about Mo Special Olympics ousts ex priest over abuse AP

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – A former Roman Catholic priest who was part of a $5 million sex abuse settlement in Wisconsin two decades ago was suspended from a volunteer position with Special Olympics Missouri and has admitted some of the abuse.

Mark Musso, president and CEO of Special Olympics Missouri, said the former priest, Tom Ericksen, 62, of Kansas City, was suspended indefinitely last week after the organization learned of the 1989 settlement with the Diocese of Superior, Wis.

Ericksen admitted in an interview with The Associated Press on Monday that he had fondled three boys but denied having contact with a fourth child involved in the settlement. He said the settlement totaled about $5 million.

“I just fondled and stuff like that,” Ericksen said during the interview in the lobby of his Kansas City apartment building.

“But I can’t say I didn’t do inappropriate things. … But I never had sex” with them, he said. Ericksen also said he has not abused any children since leaving the priesthood, including Special Olympians.

Latin Grammy-winner in Cancun hit-and-run (AP) – NIMBRUNG.NET

Hot Breaking News about Latin Grammy winner in Cancun hit and run AP
CANCUN, Mexico – Latin Grammy-winner Ana Barbara is under investigation in a hit-and-run in Cancun that left a 79-year-old woman dead.
Authorities in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo, where the tourist resort is located, initially arrested the singer’s bodyguard.
But the victim’s family alleges that it was Ana Barbara who was driving — and likely speeding — when the vehicle hit the woman Sunday.
The bodyguard, Jose Gomez, was released Monday after posting bail.
Ana Barbara denied she was driving. She told the Televisa television network that she heard a noise then saw the victim on the ground.
Ana Barbara won a Latin Grammy in 2005 in the category of best album for “Loca de Amar.”

Hot Breaking News about Moodys gives Motorola positive outlook after Nokia deal AFP

NEW YORK (AFP) – US credit ratings agency Moody’s lifted the outlook for Motorola from negative to positive on Monday after the US mobile phone maker sold most of its networks infrastructure division to Nokia Siemens Networks.

“The change to a positive outlook reflects Motorola’s improving credit profile as a result of the significant cash balances that Moody’s expects the company will have following completion of the transaction,” Moody’s said.

It said the move also reflects “the progress that the company has made in stemming the cash losses in its mobile devices unit, and the increasing likelihood that the mobile devices separation will happen as scheduled.”

Motorola plans to split into two separate companies next year, one focusing on handsets and the other on professional safety equipment.

Earlier Monday, Finnish-German giant Nokia Siemens Networks said it would buy most of Motorola’s wireless networks infrastructure assets for 1.2 billion dollars (926 million euros).
