CHICAGO – Finally, something for those guys who say they read Playboy for the articles: a chance to prove it.

Playboy Enterprises Inc. launched a website Tuesday that it swears will be safe to browse while at work, eliminating the need for men to throw themselves over their computer screen when the boss walks by.

TheSmokingJacket.com will contain none of the nudity that makes Playboy.com NSFW — not suitable for work. Instead, it’ll rely on humor to reach Playboy’s target audience, men 25 to 34 years old, when they are most likely to be in front of a computer screen.

“A lot of our audience logs on (to Playboy.com) after work and we saw that we were missing a golden opportunity to reach guys when they’re online the most: when they’re sitting at their desk, not working, sending e-mails to their friends,” said Jimmy Jellinek, Playboy’s editorial director.

The site, named after one of Playboy founder Hugh Hefner’s favorite pieces of clothing (silkpajamas.com was taken), won’t include the long interviews or in-depth articles found in Playboy.

Instead, it’s meant to be decidedly un-serious. Or, in the parlance of its audience, ROFL — rolling on the floor, laughing. And cool, “basically a juke box of cool,” said Jellinek.

NEW DELHI (AFP) – Indian police said Tuesday they had arrested five members of the same family for allegedly murdering a young woman in the latest in a spate of suspected “honour” killings in northern India.

Sangeeta, 20, who had married a lower caste man against her family’s wishes, was taken to her ancestral village in Uttar Pradesh state where police said she was strangled to death, then burned. Her remains were scattered in a field.

“We have collected her remains for a DNA sample,” a local police officer told AFP by telephone. “Our initial report clearly shows her being strangled by a scarf.”

He added that five people from her family had been arrested.

Sangeeta had secretly got married in February to her boyfriend Ravinder Kataria, who was from a lower caste.

LONDON – British and U.S. intelligence had no credible evidence of a link between Saddam Hussein and the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks on the United States before the 2003 Iraq invasion, the former chief of Britain’s domestic spy agency told the country’s inquiry into the war.

Eliza Manningham-Buller, director of the MI5 between 2002 and 2007, said that nothing to connect the attacks to Baghdad was discovered ahead of the 2003 invasion of Iraq.

“There was no credible intelligence to suggest that connection and that was the judgment, I might say, of the CIA,” she told the inquiry. “It was not a judgment that found favor with some parts of the American machine.”

Manningham-Buller said those pushing the case for war had given undue prominence to scraps of inconclusive intelligence on possible links between Iraq and the 2001 attacks.

She suggested the dispute led former U.S. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld to disregard CIA intelligence in favor of work produced by his own department.
